Our Value Framework
Bullying, Harassment and Discrimination
Transformation Academy has zero-tolerance for bullying, harassment or discrimination from staff or students. We are committed to our values of love and respect. If any student experience any form of bullying, harassment or discrimination we urge them to report this to staff immediately who will promptly investigate the matter. Serious disciplinary actions will follow if the accused is found guilty. Subsequently, support will be provided to the victim and we will work to mitigate any chance of it happening again.
The disciplinary action will vary depending on the particular situation. Likewise, the complainant will be informed of the outcome. In accordance with the Harassment Act, 1997, police or other social services will be contacted if we deem it necessary.
Students who witness such acts have equal responsibility to report them to staff. We want to teach students to appreciate the seriousness of the matter for a life other than their own and understand the detrimental effects it may have on that person if nothing is done. All staff will maintain the utmost confidentiality for all reports.
Food and Nutrition
Studies have proven time and time again, that with the right food and nutrition, both the physical and mental capabilities of an individual can be improved dramatically. For this reason, we provide a nutritious breakfast and lunch for all our students daily, to stimulate better learning and performance and ensure no student is ever at a disadvantage simply because they cannot access proper food.
Transportation
Similar to nutrition, we also recognise that transportation can be a barrier to attendance and hence, learning. If students do not have access to transportation to get to and from the course, upon request to one of our staff, we will provide an Auckland Transportation (AT) HOP card. The AT HOP card is topped up every week on Wednesday by our Administration staff. Tutors will collect them on Wednesday morning and hand them back before the end of class that same day. The cards will be monitored to ensure that they are being used appropriately. If a student’s AT HOP card is misplaced or stolen while in their possession, they are required to purchase a new card from TA for the cost of $10.00. Students are not permitted to swap or lend theirs AT HOP cards.
